Phoebe Hunter is an environmentally conscious artist with a passion for circularity and sustainability. As the visionary behind HunterMade, she explores the convergence of existing materials and nature to create her ethereal, plant-infused textiles.
Phoebe had a fluid childhood, growing up in rural and coastal towns across South Australia and Northern Territory. Rooted in creativity and touched by nature, she says abstract thinking was always encouraged by her parents: her father, a poet & artist and her mother, who ran a native plant nursery. Phoebe says her mother’s collection of vintage fabrics, passed down by her grandmother instilled in her a love and respect for artisan textiles.
Phoebe and her team at HunterMade offer a range of natural artistry works. Most notably are her bespoke wedding bouquet scarfs; infusing your wedding flowers into sentimental and wearable keepsakes. HunterMade also hosts a series of seasonal workshops and sustainable events around South Australia and beyond, including public and online workshops as well as privately booked events and intimate gatherings for special occasions.
Hemp Clothing Australia is pleased to showcase this bespoke, hand-dyed collection created by the talented Australian botanical dye artist and creative, Phoebe Hunter of HunterMade.

"Coastal Tones" is a project that I embarked upon in December last year, inspired by the landscape colours of the mid-coast of South Australia, situated on the lands of the Kaurna people. Each piece was dyed from my home studio using eucalyptus leaves, native indigo foliage, pomegranate rinds, and avocado seeds. Each dye was selected not just for the stunning tones it creates but also the natural tannins that assist in the colour fastness of the dye.
